Emergency First Aid Re-Certification

Some of our training partners offer St Mark James emergency first aid and CPR re-certifications. This is for candidates looking to re-certify a previously awarded and current emergency first aid certificate. This is not one of the most popular first aid re-certification courses available because many provincial regulations require participants to retake the full emergency first aid course.  This course takes approximately 6 (if available at depending on provincial regulation) hours to complete and costs considerably less. Course length can be longer than the minimum requirement depending on candidate skills and knowledge level. This course also includes CPR and AED re-certification. Emergency First Aid Re-Certification
Participants that enrol in emergency first aid and CPR re-certification courses will learn the latest CPR rescue techniques.

l that candidates need strengthening and on new standards and implementations into the first aid and CPR program. Once candidates complete the course they will receive a St Mark James emergency first aid, CPR and AED certificate that is valid for 3 years. Prior to registering for a emergency first aid or re-certification course ensure that this is the course that meets your workplace requirements by asking your employer or the local provider in your region (select your location from the main menu to find a provider in your region).

 

Prerequisites for Re-Certification Course:

In order to attend a St Mark James emergency first aid re-certification candidates must meet the following 3 requirements:

1. To qualify for this renewal course candidates are required to have a current  emergency first aid certificate from a recognized provider (participants in Ontario must have current certificate only from a St Mark James provider to be eligible for any re-certification course). Candidates who have previously certified with one of the following providers may be eligible for a emergency first aid recertification course.

  • St Mark James
  • Lifesaving Society
  • SAFE First Aid
  • St. Johns Ambulance
  • Heart and Stroke Foundation

If your previous provider is not listed here, contact us via email or phone and we will determine your eligibility for a recertification.

2. Candidates must have taken a regular emergency first aid or re-certification course within the past 3 years. If you have not taken a emergency first aid course or a recertification course within the past 3 years you will not be eligible for a re-certification.

3. Candidates must have taken the previous emergency first aid or re-cert course within Canada. Certificates are nationally accredited not internationally. Candidates that have completed certification outside of Canada will have to take the full course.

*Not all provinces offer emergency first aid re-certification programs.

Course Cost of Emergency First Aid Re-Certification:

The cost of a emergency first aid re-certification course varies depending on your area. Out training providers offer the lowest prices in your region. Cost of a re-certification course varies from 60 to 70 dollars. Course fee includes taxes and St Mark James certification fee.

Certification:

Candidates that successfully complete the course will receive a St Mark James emergency first aid, CPR and AED re-certification award. This certificate comes in a wallet sized card, however, candidates can also receive a wall-sized mount for a small additional fee. Certificates are valid for 3 years.

Note: Candidates must bring previous certification card and previous emergency first aid manual. Certificates are void if they have been tampered with or laminated. Please do not laminate your certification cards. Please wear comfortable clothes when attending first aid and / or CPR training.

Registration:

To register for a emergency first aid re-certification select your location from one of the menu’s. Once you have selected your location you will be directed to a St Mark James training provider in your region.
